Our Casteñada Collection is named after Don Juan Casteñada, the original owner of the Adobe house. These wines are a departure from our traditional pinot noirs and chardonnays, as they are true field blends crafted from Rhône varietals sourced from our Heritage vineyard, Durell. Inspired by the Adobe’s rich history, this collection pays homage to both the Adobe itself and the traditional winemaking practices of Sonoma.

Celebrate the beginning of the spring season with our newest vintage of the Casteñada Rosé. This lively and fresh expression of the Sonoma Valley is crafted from field-blended Rhône varieties - an homage to the traditional way of winemaking. The saignée method gives a wonderful mouthfeel and roundness, while brief skin contact gives the rosé its vibrant pink hue and delicate structure. This rosé delivers both energy and elegance, making it a staple for any table or occasion all year long and a true fan favorite

VINTAGE NOTES

The 2024 vintage began with a cool, steady start and welcomed much-needed winter rainfall, followed by a mild spring that set the stage for a strong fruit set and healthy growing season. Harvest timing returned to a more typical schedule, a welcome shift from the delayed pace of 2023. A brief burst of warmth around Labor Day gave way to cooler temperatures, allowing for a measured and deliberate picking process. The resulting wines showcase beautiful color and concentration, balanced with lower-than-normal alcohol levels, reflecting the poise and precision of this promising vintage.

TASTING NOTES

Aromas burst with bright rose water and watermelon notes, dancing on the palate with ruby red grapefruit, complemented by a hint of white cherry. It’s refreshing acidity and mouthwatering finish make it versatile, effortlessly complementing everything from light fish to richer, heartier dishes.
