2019 Price Family Estates Pinot Noir

2019 Price Family Estates Pinot Noir

Our Price Family Estates Pinot Noir is a special blend of our estate vineyards throughout the Sonoma Coast, presenting one of the most thoughtful processes for our winemakers each year. With many distinctive vineyards in our portfolio, the team works tirelessly to showcase the unique qualities of each site, while pulling the components together into a seamless blend. The core of this wine originates from our 17-acre Walala Vineyard, planted among a vast sea of redwoods, just six miles from the Pacific Ocean. Fruit from our Durell, One Sky, Gap’s Crown, and Alana Vineyards round out the composition, making it a lovely representation of the diversity of Sonoma Coast and remarkable quality of the 2019 vintage.

On the nose you'll find dried herbs, dark chocolate and hints of forest floor. Notes of pluot and ruby red grapefruit provide high tone zip to tantalize the palate, while a touch of toasted hazelnut further complements this wine.

More Information
The 2019 vintage made a memorable entrance, with much-needed rainfall, allowing the earth to recover and heal from previous dry years. The vines awoke from their winter slumber and transitioned into a cool spring, giving us the chance to enjoy a mild and uneventful budding season. As fruit matured, the temperate conditions allowed the flowering to set at an even pace as we continued to experience cool temperatures throughout the season. The grapes had a nice, slow development into veraison, intensifying flavors and giving us plenty of nuance to work with in the cellar. Our winemaking team perfectly captured the distinct characteristics of the 2019 vintage, allowing each of our estate vineyards to express each of their unique traits in the bottle. Because of the complexity and high yields of this vintage, we are excited for the tremendous quality and age-ability that it promises. While the 2018 and 2019 vintages had similar bounties and quality, the growing seasons couldn’t have been more different—the true blessing and mystique of Mother Nature.
