Perched on a sloping hilltop, surrounded by apple orchards west of Sebastopol, the William James Vineyard is a sanctuary for pinot noir. With fine Goldridge soil, famous in this cooler portion of the Russian River Valley AVA, the William James develops a rich texture with expressive spiciness and raspberry coulis. The winds whip through this area daily, bringing in cool fog that shuts the vines down for the evening, elongating the growing season so the fruit is flourishing by harvest. This is the newest vineyard addition to our Price Family Estates portfolio, and we are keenly stoked with the quality of fruit and the wild expressive wine it produces. The 2018 is the perfect representation of what Bill, our Founder, Rob, our Vineyard Director, and Bob and Ryan, our Winemakers, wanted out of this site.
