The Durell Vineyard Chardonnay is the ultimate showcase of terroir. It is primarily composed of Old Wente clone, planted in various blocks throughout Durell. Each block expresses unique characteristics—one, on golden sandy soil atop a hillcrest, offers deep concentration, while another, situated at the base of the hillside, struggles on rockier soil that provides a bright acid line and minerals. These components combine to a rich, luxurious wine, accented by lime and slate minerality. With additional notes of honey-lemon meringue, shortbread, and yellow apple, this is a mouthwatering vintage that is best described as a ray of sunshine in your glass.
To celebrate the 2017 vintage recently awarded Top Regional Wine by Rodeo Uncorked and this 2018 vintage receiving 97 points from Wine Enthusiast, we have pulled a small quantity from our library for you to add to your spring release allotment.
