Our Casteñada White Blend comes from the 52 acre Parmelee Hill Vineyard. Located a stone’s throw from our Estate Durell Vineyard, Parmelee was planted by Steve Hill, who was also the founding farmer of Durell. Retreating morning fog leads into warm mid-day temperatures followed by cool, whipping wind in the afternoon. This type of climate results in low-yielding vines producing fruit with intense flavor. Composed of 40% Grenache Blanc, 32% Roussanne, 16% Marsanne, and 12% Viognier, these grapes are co-fermented and aged in a mix of concrete amphora, stainless steel drums and a single French oak barrel. Pleasing and fun, this wine hits floral aromatic high notes with ideal viscosity and bright acidity.
