The Price Family Vineyards (PFV) Estate Pinot Noir is an Estate blend of our iconic sites: Durell, Gap’s Crown, and Walala Vineyards.  We also layer in soon-to-be iconic vineyards like One Sky, William James, and Alana from our portfolio allowing us to take all the strengths of individual places and build an unforgettable and cohesive wine. The nose hints of fresh blackberry and strawberry while the palate explodes with plum and spice. The finish is persistent and begs you back for more!

Vineyard
The grapes in the PFV Estate Pinot Noir hail from some of the most renowned vineyards sites in California. Each property is owned and farmed by our Three Sticks’ owner, Bill Price and his farming company Price Family Vineyards. Gap’s Crown Vineyard, Walala Vineyard, and Durell Vineyard make up this unique blend. These properties are from very diverse terroirs—Gap’s Crown in the Petaluma Wind Gap, Walala sits on the extreme Sonoma Coast near the town of Annapolis, and Durell closer to San Francisco in the hills of Sonoma. They all share the similar quality of being cooled by the Pacific Coast winds and blankets of Northern California fog. Our newest addition to the Three Sticks family gives us the opportunity to take our components from each of our vineyards and build a wine that showcases all of the great aspects of the Sonoma Coast appellation.
More Information
2016 was a relatively smooth year that unfolded at a steady pace and with mild temperatures. While we didn’t have many exceptionally hot days, it was one of the earlier harvests on our record. Flowering and fruit set beautifully and yields were above normal, which was a nice change from previous years. We harvested our first grapes in mid-August, and had picked about 25% of our Pinot Noir and then a sudden cool spell arrived. This allowed cooler climate vineyards that had yet to be harvested to remain on the vine longer and develop deep and expressive flavors. The berries were smaller and heartier than normal which resulted in great depth of color and structure. We are extremely excited by the 2016’s - they are something special! Pretty, expressive, and pleasurable.
