The Casteñada Red often marks the end of our harvest season as it's varietals are usually the last to be picked. Since this wine is a field blend, we have more than 8 different varieties that go into the fermentor at the same time (~25% of which are white grapes). On the palate you'll find velvety tannins, mouth-coating violet, and black currant with a lingering finish. 2016 was unique as white grape yields were slightly higher, lending beautiful aromatics on the nose. This wine holds a very special place in our hearts as it honors our tasting room, the Adobe, and the rich history of Sonoma in how it is farmed, crafted, and bottled.
